Description

Q4Wine is a qt4[1] GUI for W.I.N.E.[2] It will help you manage wine prefixes and installed applications. It currently support for both Linux and FreeBSD platforms.

Q4Wine was initially written by Alexey S. Malakhov aka John Brezerk. General idea comes from WineTools scripts which were initially written by Frank Hendriksen.

General features are:

Can export QT color theme into wine colors settings.
Can easy work with different wine versions at same time;
Easy creating, deleting and managing prefixes (WINEPREFIX);
Easy controlling for wine process;
Easy installer wizard for wine applications; (Not yet. Wait for v. 0.120)
Autostart icons support;
Easy cd-image use;
You can extract icons from PE files (.exe .dll);
Easy backup and restore for managed prefixes.
Winetriks support.

Here it is time for new q4wine bug-fix release tagged by 0.119-r1 version.

Thanks to Alex_P unofficial builds of q4wine packages is now available for Debian (lenny, squeeze, sid) and Ubuntu (jaunty, karmic, lucid).

Here it is new q4wine release candidate tagged by 0.119 version.

Changes since 0.119-rc1 are:

Updated Italian and Ukrainian translations;
Some fixes for GUI layout;
Prefix icons created by default after prefix creation;

Feb. 15, 2010 Wine AppDB database browser

For now, q4wine has ability to query Wine AppDB database and get information on application compatibility with Wine.

To test it, you need build git version of q4wine, with -DWITH_WINEAPPDB=ON flag enabled.

Unfortunately, almost no one of wine devels not interested in my xml export script. Also I don't get any answer on my letter about hosting request at winehq.com host site. (Note: Before creating script, I ask for a hosting in appdb@winehq.org maillist and Alexander N. Sørnes says that it can be done. But...).

For now, I port xmlexport script to django framework and now, thx to Opium, we can host it on q4wine hosting site.

Note: Because we have no direct access to appdb database, we cant use it actual copy.

This bug was fixed in 0.114-r1 release.

It is time for new q4wine release tagged by 0.114 version. This release includes new Italian translation and translations updates for Spanish, Ukrainian and Portuguese (Brazil) locales.

I'd like to introduce new Wine Registry read\write engine, which allows to read existing Wine configuration keys during Fake Drive update process. Also I add some more wine configuration options in to Fake Drive Wizard dialog.

0.113-rc2 is the last point before public release.

Many issues were fixed and many new features were added from 0.112. It is a time to test them all and hunt the bugs to make the version ready to release ;)

Today, thx to Opium and Django team q4wine at last get it's website engine.

Now I am filling website with new content, and it will be ready for public use as soon as possible.
